More recently, John conducted a survey with the purpose of learning what people want in freight broker training, what they don't want, how they want it, how much they'll pay for it and even how much time they want to spend learning.
John states that "All business development should be the result of giving clients what they want. It's easy to forget the importance of first seeking out information from potential users. So the first step is to ask them what they want. Once this information is gathered, the next step is to create the 'deliverables'." These could be in the form of comprehensive, one-on-one telephone and Internet training, audio CDs, audio/video DVDs, teleseminars, eBooks that can be downloaded from the Internet, mailed materials and so on.
John goes on to state that "most serious individuals want some real 'hand-holding'. This is where the one-on-one telephone training comes in to play. It's more costly but it's got the best value because there is no time limit on support."
John wants to continue developing other ways to serve potential customers by offering powerful and detailed materials that might not include the more personal touch that one-on-one telephone training provides.
